Impact of Positive Emotions on the Willingness to Communicate in Second Language

Globally, second language (L2) education aims to empower the learners with skills and motivation necessary for effective communication. The current study investigated association between ten positive emotions Willingness Communicate (WTC) in L2. studied were joy, gratitude, interest, serenity, amusement, hope, pride, awe, inspiration, love. While previous research conducted on this topic was largely confined Western context, incorporated Pakistani context as well establish a more comprehensive picture. Three hundred (300) undergraduate postgraduate students enrolled higher institutions (HEIs) Islamabad, Pakistan took part research. findings revealed that amusement tend impact students’ WTC results offer many practical insights policymakers, teachers, students.
